Dr. Shilpi Chovatia, DDS was born and raised in the Bay Area. She attended Mission San Jose High School in Fremont and then went onto the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychobiology. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she returned to the Bay Area to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from the prestigious Arthur A. Dugoni University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco, CA.
Dr. Shilpi has always been an artist at heart since childhood and interestingly enough her name “Shilpi” means artist or sculptor in the Hindi language. She has always had an appreciation for various forms of art including dance, do-it-yourself crafts, interior design, makeup and of course dentistry. Her passion for working with her hands all the while helping people achieve beautiful, radiant smiles was the main reason why she became a dentist. Dr. Shilpi has an eye for beauty and aesthetics which is why she specializes in cosmetic and restorative dentistry.
Dr. Shilpi participates in several continuing education seminars throughout the year to ensure application of new modalities in technology for dental treatment and to provide the best care available to her patients.
Dr. Shilpi is often told by her patients that she is very gentle with her hands. Her utmost priority is providing her patients with a pleasant and comfortable dental experience while delivering the highest quality dental care. Believing in the importance of compassion and listening to her patients, she takes the time to truly understand each person’s needs. She loves seeing healthy changes and improvements when her patients are educated, encouraged and treated.
When Dr. Shilpi is not practicing dentistry, she enjoys traveling, cooking, eating, dancing, shopping, watching movies and spending time with her loving husband, daughters, dog and friends.
